Microsoft Windows
To run Sage on Microsoft Windows you need the following:
  1. VMWare Player
  2. VMWare Image of Sage
Note: Please read these additional instructions. This image is also suitable for other environments where VMWare is available.
Sage depends on many components which are not yet available for Microsoft Windows. A native port is in the works. The current VMWare Image provides you with an encapsulated and solid tested system and contains everything and needs nearly no configuration.
Linux
Usage:
  1. Select the one that suits your setup and extract it in your file-browser by right clicking "extract" or on the command-line using: tar xvzf sage...tar.gz.
  2. Run sage by calling the command: sage.
At the moment there are no distribution-specific packages available. Progress is being made for Debian and Fedora.
Apple Mac OS X
These binaries are only for OS X 10.4 or 10.5. They will not work on OS X 10.3. For more information read the installation instructions and watch the installation tutorial.

DVD
You can also get a copy of Sage on DVD.
It includes the full source code, binaries for the VMWare Player, Mac OS X and Linux and as well the documentation. Additionally, in the spirit of open-source you are allowed to copy and distribute this DVD freely! It may not contain the latest version, please check it on the website.
Sage LiveCD
This LiveCD lets you run Sage directly from a bootable CD. It is based on a Linux system and includes version 3.1.1. Read more here.
Additional Packages
Sage consists of a selected set of packages which are well tested and integrated into the Sage framework. There are also other less integrated or unstable packages additionally available. Click here to get an overview of all available packages.
